The Heart Dress (2015).

My very first fashion assignment. In this project I had to create a dress, inspired by the human heart. These are some pages from my inpirational “dummy”, in which I gathered images, colourcards and pieces of fabrics that inspired me.  My final design was a red bodycon dress made from scuba fabric. The dress itself symbolizes the human heart, the white zips symbolize the ribcage and the red & blue stitching the blood vessels.

‘Maori Warrior’ (2016).  A Spring/Summer ’17 collection for French Connection.

Inspired by New Zealand’s Maori culture, this Spring/Summer ’17 ‘Maori Warrior’ collection for women, offers a wide range of everyday looks as well as key piece looks for special occasions. The key looks are influenced by the Maori’s Moko (facial) tattoos, that give the pieces their own distinctive and edgy look. The Maori Warrior collection represents the confident and independent woman, who is not afraid to experiment with different styles. She likes to wear edgy clothes, while maintaining her feminine side.

Internship at the atelier of Dennis Diem (2016). Pages from my internship report.

My first fashion internship was at the atelier of Dutch high fashion designer Dennis Diem. Diem is known for his extravagant, feminine looks and specializes in corsets, evening gowns and bridal wear. The internship was all about craftsmanship. All garments were sewn by hand and decorated with stones, beads and sequins. I’ve worked on looks for Dutch soul formation Ladies of Soul, Wasteland Festival and the Mercedes Benz Amsterdam Fashion Week (AW16). I was mainly responsible for the bodysuits and finishing the looks with gem stones. It was an unique experience and I’ve learned a lot about clothes construction, smocking techniques and embroidery.

Internship at Dutch fashion brand Dept (2016).

For my second internship I interned at the design department of Dutch fashion brand Dept. I was given the amazing opportunity by the Head of Design, to design all the woven styles for the Autumn ’17 collection, together with the other woven designer. I was responsible for the entire collection design process. From creating mood boards and design proposals, to making technical drawings, tech packs and adding the woven styles to the database (PDM). Here’s a small selection of work from my time at Dept.

‘Paradise’ (2017), a Spring/Summer ’18 collection for MANGO.

The MANGO Spring/Summer ’18 collection is inspired by the colours and shapes of Nature’s gorgeous tropical flowers and leaves. Each collection piece has either a floral shape or print. Soft pink and dark green are the key colours of this collection, combined with crisp white or a bold statement colour. The tropical feel of the collection will have you in the holiday spirit in no time!

‘Retro Holiday’ (2018), a High Summer ’19 collection for Milla Amsterdam.

The High Summer ’19 collection is all about summer elegance and will take you on a journey of soft and neutral tones: camel, sand, white & a touch of gold represent the feminine side of the Milla woman. The addition of our beautiful seasonal color tangerine gives the perfect edgy touch to the collection.

The main inspiration for this season came from the feeling of the Côte d’Azur: summer chic tones, style & beach elegance… A warm summer breeze on the background…
